Information for Stallholders

Selling at the Bega Produce Markets

If you have locally grown or produced products you are able to have a stall at the markets.

Types of Stallholders

  • Producer - one who only sells what they produce.
  • Secondary Producer - one who processes produce, creates a product, or adds value to a product (eg Jams, Sauces, Fermented Foods/Drinks etc). This processing must be done according to the Food Health and Safety Standards. The use of local products and produce is recommended wherever possible.
  • Tertiary Producer - one who prepares ready to eat foods for sale. Operators must comply with the Food Health and Safety Standards and hold a current Food Safety Supervisors Certificate. The use of local products and produce is recommended wherever possible.
  • Representative - any stallholder who sells another producers product.


A stallholder may be any one of these types, but may also consist of more than one of the types listed above. For example, a stallholder may sell their own produce (Producer), & also sell their neighbours produce (Representative) providing it is in accordance the above mentioned Bega Produce Markets Product Requirement guidelines.

Stalls Fees

  • Regular Stall Site - A 3x3 metre area. $15 per market ($12 for SCPA Members).
  • Casual Stall Site - A 3x3 metre area. $20 per market ($15 for SCPA Members).
  • Charity Stall Site - A 3x3 metre area. $10 per market.
  • Food Vendor Site - A 3x3 metre area (or equivalent parkable space). $25 per market ($20 for SCPA Members).

Operation of the Bega Produce Markets

The Bega Produce Market operation is governed by the rules set down by the Bega Valley Shire Council in its Development Application approval

The Bega Produce Market are run by SCPA - South East Producers through a Market Co-ordinator.
